The Goderich Lions Club and ONE CARE Home & Community Support Services are partnering to support local rides for Goderich seniors.

The Lions Club have provided Tuesday and Thursday Seniors Bus rides in Goderich for more than 20 years, using a local bus company. The service will continue but as of Saturday, July 1st it is now provided by ONE CARE, who are able to add the service of a wheelchair accessible bus to do the rides.

The bus travels on Tuesdays to Zehrs and on Thursdays to Food Basics. Other stops to pharmacies, bank and doctors' offices may be accommodated as time permits.

The service is provided door-to-door with pick up times starting at 10:30am and return rides home from 12:30pm to 1pm. The program is offered to those aged 55 years and older at no charge and the Goderich Lions Club is providing a grant of $10 000 to cover the cost of those rides.

Both current and new riders of the service are asked to call ONE CARE to register and to book rides in advance with at least one day's notice.

ONE CARE can be reached during business hours of 8:30am to 4pm from Monday to Friday. The number for ONE CARE is 1-877-502-8277.
