HOLIDAY BAKING FUNDRAISER

It’s that time of year again where we start making our lists and checking them twice!  

With so much to do, and so many people to think about during the holiday season, we would like to take this time to share a great opportunity for giving and receiving this holiday season. 

As newcomers continue to arrive in Huron County, often from conflict zones in other places of the world, there is a continued need for funding and support as part of the resettlement process.

To assist newcomer families, the Goderich Lions' Huron Area Newcomer Fund distributes funds to help newcomer families with unforeseen expenses, such as medical, dental, transportation and other necessities where there are service gaps. 

Since the fund started in August 2022, more than $25,000 has been disseminated to over 60 people who have arrived in Huron County. 

In response to this continued need, the Huron Area Newcomer Fund committee is launching a Christmas cookie fundraiser.

If you would like some help with the Christmas baking this year, or if you know of someone who might enjoy a little extra Christmas cheer, our committee members would love to assist with this. 

For a minimum donation of $20, you can receive an 8”x8” container of various holiday treats, just in time for the holiday season and a tax receipt from the Goderich Lions.

A total of 200 containers will be available for a $20 donation or more. Additional donations will receive a thank you and tax receipt.

Payment can be made by e-transfer. Please include the following in the comments section of the e-transfer:

Orders will be ready for pickup at Knox Presbyterian Church in Goderich on December 16, 2023.
